New year, new bathroom

We start demo in 10 days. Time to rip out all the unfortunate mistakes of past owners and get back to something that passes for 'classic' rather than 'mid-eighties-crap'.
The timing of this is suspect, as starting a major remodeling project when you're 31 weeks pregnant seems to be crazy... especially when I say we and really mean it. It's a total DIY job. From the studs to the plumbing to the electrical, all the work will be done by the husband (who seems to have a handle on the scope of the thing, at least we hope), and to a much, much lesser degree, me. My major input thus far has been the picking out and getting and lining up and buying of stuff- a clawfoot tub, a salvaged potty (I mean a vintage, wall hung tank, saved from destruction in a historic hotel kind of potty), the porcelain mosaic tiles for the floor.
We're trying to keep it relatively close to the period of the house, and as a 1913 mish-mash of styles, I think we're doing alright. I'll be sure to post updates on the progress (or lack thereof), because nobody doesn't like a disaster, right? We'll see about actual photographic evidence.

In pregnancy related news, I seem to be very pregnant. Let's hope that the bathroom project gets done before the baby project, yes?

It was a NYE miracle!

OK, not really. But it WAS new year's eve, and it WAS really cool. Yay!

We have a sprout who decided he'd start actually traveling in a hands-and-knees creep. I was quite sure he'd just skip it at this point, as he's getting so good at the feet thing at PT- he's pushing a weighted cart around there. BUT NO. Stinker.

And new year's eve also brought us a full half hour of him practicing standing up, from a sit, totally unassisted. I think he just liked falling back down on the bed, and not the standing bit, but I'm not picky. He managed a solid five seconds of being on his feet before he got really tired and totally slaphappy over his talent.

What timing... just in time for new baby to join the cast, right?
