I'm coming to a sad realization.
You know those Mac commercials? I love them. Then again, I love my Mac, so there ya go. But anyway, since the 'cancel or allow' commercial, the phrase, "You're coming to a sad realization" has been used at my house. Often. And I'm coming to one now... and it's that I have to get a D-SLR. And I love my film cameras, and I'm one of the goofy holdouts that said (up until about three days ago), "Oh, I don't have a digital camera". And I'm proud of that. I mean, I have the little point-and-shoot that we take on vacation, but that's it. Cameras? Yep, I have a Bronica ETR(that's a medium format), a Pentax K1000, and a Canon that's really only used for backup. I also have some antique (heh, like the ones I just listed aren't old) cameras, but I don't shoot with them. It's always a project I mean to start, but amazingly, don't have time for. Go figure, right?
But if I want to get back into pro shooting, I'm going to have to bite the stupid bullet and buy a real DSLR. The work I would be doing would kind of necessitate it- because my clients wouldn't be impressed by the shadows and highlights of black and white film, they just want their little angels to have a decent expression.
So. Just because I have to be different, I think I'm going to go with Pentax. Buck the whole Nikon/Canon empire. Besides, I have Pentax lenses, and they're compatible with the digital body. The big question right now, then, is do I go ahead and buy what's available now or wait until the rumored new K2*'s come out? Agh.
Stupid cameras.
But I'm keeping the film. And I'm using a real darkroom, as soon as I'm not pregnant anymore. So there.
