it's fall, even here

There was a request in the last set of comments for a new photo- no problem!
And an inquiry as to how I'm doing... fine. The peanut is certainly mobile, I'm definitely rounder in the middle, and everything pregnancy-wise is progressing beautifully.
We're a smidge tired around here, though, as sir-hugs-a-lot has decided to start some really annoying sleeping habits. As in, no sleep. He's waking himself up by crawling about, almost hourly. He has decided to skip naps entirely for the last couple of days. I know developmental advances are usually accompanied with crappy sleep, not to mention the new tooth that's coming in (is it just me, or has this kid been teething forever?), so it'll pass. In the meantime, I drink a lot of coffee.
Oh. We're starting kindermusik this week, too. That should be entertaining.

At 19 months....

Well, I don't generally do the milestone thing- and this is no exception. At 19 months, Noel isn't creeping on hands and knees. He doesn't have any words. He doesn't say mama. He does call daddy 'da'. He also calls the dogs 'da'. Make of that what you will.
He's doing so well with his PT, though. Every visit he's getting stronger, closer to the skills we're trying to tease out. We're still waiting on speech- and we're at the top of the list. But that's ok, too. We had a little sign explosion recently, and in addition to more and all done and a made up sign for dog, now we're seeing eat and water (well, it's a lot like eat) and something I can't translate yet.
But my very favorite, oh, the thing that makes me just want to eat him up... it's the hugging. He's just started hugging, on purpose. He'll wrap his little arms around your neck or head tightly, patting with one hand, and making this goofy little sigh at the same time.
Oh, and daddy's taught him how to make fists, turning them down, and making 'vroom vroom' noises. And a lovely dance which involves some elbow flapping and shoulder shaking.
But I get hugs.

You're kidding, right?

So, I think this has been national news- I know we've been getting the blow-by-blow, because it's in our state, but I assume y'all have heard about the death of a boy in a FL boot camp...
and the guards were just acquitted.
I wasn't in the courtroom, so I have a hard time making any sort of judgment on what happened. But I"m calling bullshit.
